The Brode Story

We don’t believe in sacrifice. We believe in awesome.

In the 1960s, scientists at University of Florida developed Gatorade...

In the 1970s, a physician developed Pedialyte...

... then there was little innovation for the next 40 years...

Marc Brodeur, the founder of Brode Electrolyte Vitamins, grew up playing baseball in the scorching sun and played through college. He got really good at being properly hydrated by using various snacks and drinks.

But as he got older, he didn't want the calories of a sports drink, the weird additives of energy drinks and didn't want to deal with the gross flavors of electrolyte drinks. Why couldn't there be a vitamin solution that could remove the flavor and be more convenient to boot?

In the fall of 2010, Marc bought his first tiny capsule machine to make the first prototypes to what would become Brode Electrolyte Vitamin. He analyzed existing products in order to combine the best features of each of them. After going through countless iterations, and turning his New York apartment into what looked like a drug lab, Marc found his original formula.
