October Kiva Loan: Varazdat in Armenia

October 20, 2015

Varazdat has the ruggedness of someone who has lived in the Caspian Sea region to the age of 57. Both of his grown sons are fulfilling military service, and his wife is working in Russia. Varazdat lives with his sister and they earn income from their eclectic farm.

Different types of cows plus pigs and chickens provide milk, meat, and eggs. Plus he has vegetable plots for potatoes, cabbages, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

Animals need to eat all year, but the harvest comes at specific times. Varazdat's Kiva loan will help him buy food for his animals to feed them in between harvest times.
